“The traveler sees what he sees. The tourist sees what he has come to see.” ― G.K. Chesterton
It's Positively Tuesday, and I am Positively planning a getaway. I leave later this week for Park City, Utah to visit a daughter. There are tempting promises of beautiful weather, mountains, the spa, and a possible side trip to Wyoming - all in addition to getting to spend time together. And I know when it's time to come home, I won't have been there nearly long enough.
I am so looking forward to it. It's been almost a year since I have been anywhere beyond my general area. I consider myself a traveler - as opposed to a tourist. Oh, I rubberneck with the best of them, I shoot photos of almost everything and there are certain things I make it a point to see once I'm there (wherever there is). But in between all that, I am generally in awe of whatever new territory I am in. There is usually so much more to see than what you came to see. It's good to be open, to take your time, to wander a bit. Take the road less travelled when possible.
“To travel is to live.” ― Hans Christian Andersen
