POSITIVELY FOR THE BIRDS

by Mauverneen

I have filled my hummingbird feeder and hung it outside, just in case there are any – um, you know - early birds. So far, all I have is a feeder full of ants. But they’ll come. They always do. Quick, lively and colorful, they are always fun to watch and a challenge to photograph. I’m also wondering when the Indigo Buntings will show up. Another sure sign of spring.

POSITIVELY PARKS

Crater Lake
by Mauverneen
It’s National Park Week!

I don’t know how many I’ve actually been to – not many when I look at the entire list – but I can say that I have definately been impressed with the ones I’ve seen. One of the best things the government has ever done for it’s citizens, in my opinion, is to protect and preserve these historic, and natural areas for our enjoyment and the enjoyment of the thousands of foreign visitors they attract each year.

This POSITIVELY TUESDAY
by Mauverneen

Focus on the positive. Today of all days - focus on the good.

Focus not on the bad. Or the sad. Find the good. For there is good.

Focus not on the hate. Not on the fear. For it is there - In so many hearts.

And there is already too much of it out there.

Life goes on. As it must.

We pause, take stock, pray. We honor that moment of silence, acknowledge that moment of fear, and stumble in that moment of shock and disbelief.

And like good marathon runners we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and focus on the finish line.

As always, words and photos are my own, and require permission to reprint. However, feel free to share the blog in it's entirety. In fact, I encourage it!

POSITIVELY - A BUCKET LIST

by Mauverneen

Grand Canyon view

A friend of mine went out to Arizona a couple of weeks ago - lucky dog. I love Arizona. I wish everybody could see the Grand Canyon at least once in their life. And Monument Valley. And several other parts of that wonderful state. But it got me thinking. Ever since that movie came out everyone’s suddenly got a ‘bucket list.’ They have the top 10 or 100 or 5,001 places to visit before you die. I’ve come up with a ‘bucket list’ of my own - for traveler’s. But it’s not about picking which places to visit, sometimes it’s not so much WHERE you go but how you experience the journey. Kind of like life.

POSITIVELY Pining For Spring

by Mauverneen

This baby robin is ready for the world
I wish spring would get here already. I’m more than ready to trade my parka and boots for t-shirts and flip-flops.  Officially, it arrived March 20th but can’t seem to decide if it wants to stay. In typical Midwest fashion it tempts us with false starts of 50 degree days and then backslides into winter mode with threats of snow.
