"Green green it's green they say on the far side of the hill.
"Green green I'm goin' away to where the grass is greener still."
Those are the words to a folk song that I remember from the sixties.
Looking out my window the past couple of days, I can't help but hear them ringing in my head. And I think 'The grass could not possibly be any greener on the other side of the fence.' Not today. It's green, emerald green, grass green, Ireland green! I don't remember ever seeing everything so green. But I probably say that every spring.
Yes, Spring! April showers and all that. All that fresh, new green really pops on a rainy day. The grass has greened up, new green leaves that weren't there yesterday are popping out of branches everywhere, and green is sprouting up in the garden; from yellow-green to the deep shades of the Evergreen trees, I wonder how many shades of green I see. And I'm loving it. Winter is a black and white world -it's shades of gray monotonous and depressing. And then Mother Nature gets out her colored pencils. Her favorite color will change soon enough, but now, in April, her favorite color is green!
As always, words and photos are my own, and require permission to reprint.
However, feel free to share the blog in it's entirety. In fact, I encourage it!
