Positively Thankful

by Mauverneen

It's Thanksgiving week. Time to buy the turkey and the cranberries and sweet potatoes, bake the pies, stuff ourselves as full as that bird in the oven and spend a few minutes thinking of things we are thankful for. It's Positively Tuesday, maybe it's a good day to spend being thankful. What? Today and Thursday too? Hmmm.

Positively Tuesday is meant to be a day free from griping, complaining, and general negativity. What could be more Positive than being thankful? I'm thankful for my coffee in the morning. I'm thankful for the warm slippers on my feet. I'm thankful for the fact that I have to decide what to have for dinner tonight. Some people don't have a choice. Some people won't have dinner.

I'm as guilty as anybody when it comes to griping and groaning about what I don't have, or what went wrong or whatever I don't like in my life today. But I have a roof over my head, food and water in the house, and clothes to keep me warm. It's a good time to remember that there are those with no roof, no food or water, no warm clothes.

So on this Positively Tuesday, I am positively grateful. And on Thursday, when we sit around that holiday meal and count our blessings what am I going to be most thankful for? My loving family. No question! Those at the table this year and those who have been at that table on past Thanksgivings. I am positively thankful for each and every one of them.

Have a Positively delightful Thanksgiving!
