Positively Classic Dad's Day Out

by Mauverneen

If you love classic and antique cars you can find a cruise night nearly every night of the week. But this Sunday is one you really shouldn't miss. It is the 50th annual Classic Car Show at Oakbrook center. A Fathers Day tradition put on by the Illinois Region of the Classic Car Club of America, this year promises to be even more special.

Why is this one special? Besides cars from the 50's and 60's, there will be close to 50 Grand Classics - those gorgeous automobiles from the 30's and 40's that epitomized an era of class, flash, and style. Hollywood loved their automobiles - the bigger and more customized, the better!

These are not just cars, but works of art and yes, a link to history. So come on out if you can. You won't be sorry. There's shopping and dining to entice those who aren't all that into cars. And a big band will be playing on the green so don't forget those dancing shoes!

As always, words and photos are my own, and require permission to reprint.
However, feel free to share the blog in it's entirety. In fact, I encourage it!
